Chrysanthemum Terrace

I painted this for the Tokyo Metropolitan Hischool Art Competition which will be held in ealy december! I hope I do well! XD Im　in the art club at school! X3 A total of 6 members including me! Meaning the lest popular club in the school ( Not including the GAIJIN RYUGAKUSEI club (foreginer exchange student) club which I am the only member of XD hahaha! )

I was inspired for the title and the idea from Jay Chou`s 2007 film (Well,, he starred in it awyway XD) Curse of the Golden Flower!! Its a good movie! (You should also watch his film SECRET which is just as eqully as awesome but has a happy end) BUT! the theme song which Jay composed and sung is called JU HUA TAI 菊花台　　meaning Chrisanthemum Terrace in Chinese. I decided to draw this tradition Chinese graden from many photos that I mashed together in my mind! haha! I then made it less realistic by changing parts to my liking! For example adding the lantern and the stone creature which is (probably) inspired from Hayao Hiyazaki`s Spirited Away and takes after Totoro`s shape... (?) HAHAHAAH!!! I dunno! XP

But anyway! Hope you like it! the photo of the paiting isnt tooo goood because I couldnt use flash since I used pencil over the acrilic paints for shaddows and light... but the real thing is pretty big...three feet long and 2.5 feet down>>>? haha! Dunnnooooo XP
